Le Mans Sarthe Basket has announced its first signing for the upcoming season. The club, which will compete in the EuroCup for the next five seasons, has welcomed Jordan King, a 25-year-old guard from Albany, New York. Standing at 1.83 m, King joins after a successful season in Greece with Maroussi BC.
Who is Jordan King?
Jordan King is an American player of Jamaican descent, known for his three-point shooting and playmaking abilities. He stood out during his final college season with the Richmond Spiders, where he was named to the A-10 Conference All-Star team in 2023-2024. He averaged 18 points (41.4% from three), 3.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
Why is this signing important?
After the departures of Trevor Hudgins (PAOK Thessaloniki) and Travante Williams (Roanne), as well as Jonathan Jeanne (Orléans), Le Mans Sarthe Basket needed to strengthen its roster. Jordan King, who also played in Spain with Alicante, brings experience and versatility. He can play both guard positions, with speed and defensive intensity that align with the club’s identity.
What are the expectations for next season?
The club’s sporting director, Vincent Loriot, explained that Le Mans had been tracking Jordan King since his time at Richmond University. “He fits the identity we want to reinforce—young players on the rise, capable of applying strong defensive pressure and constantly relaunching the game with precision and sharing,” he said. With the EuroCup and Betclic Élite on the schedule, Le Mans Sarthe Basket is counting on him to bring energy and creativity.
